About
Weβre looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive the integration of self-service into our apps. We at Onaroll see self-service as the next evolution of our business; hands-free customer customization will be key to scaling and supporting a user-base of over 1 million shift workers. The ability to adjust goal targets, manage team rosters, and configure multi-level access, all at an enterprise level, are some key milestones within the scope of self-service.
As a Senior Software Engineer on a product-oriented development team, youβll be leading this greenfield project through design, development and implementation stages with heavy cross-functional collaboration. The impact of your work will not only be felt by our external customer-base, but the significant improvements to internal systems will positively impact your peers as well. Needless to say, the projects you will be working on will have a lasting influence on Onaroll and the shift workers we support.
You
- You have 3-5+ years of consumer-facing application development experience (Note that weβre language agnostic, though we love Python for backend systems and TypeScript via React for frontend systems)
- You are dedicated to delivering high quality work that solves the problems it set out to resolve.
- You have experience making pragmatic decisions based on a wide range of technical and non-technical tradeoffs.
- You have worked with product and team leads in the past to deliver on time and on target.
Helpful Experiences and Background
- Python via Django, or other Python frameworks such as Flask
- TypeScript/JavaScript via React, or other modern and responsive frontend frameworks like Vue
- Familiar with designing and implementing microservice architectures
- Familiar with mobile application frameworks, such as React Native
- Familiar with Kotlin and Java frameworks, like Dropwizard
- You are a former (or current) shift worker familiar with the joys and challenges of the work
$135,000 - $165,000 a year
At Onaroll, we believe in offering competitive and transparent compensation packages that reflect the skills and experience of our valued team members. For this position, the salary range is 135-165k per year. Please note that this range is designed to encompass the diversity of experience levels and expertise that our potential candidates may bring.

Additionally, Onaroll expects employees to operate like owners - because they are. Every employee earns equity in the business in the form of Incentive Stock Options, on top of their salary and benefits package.
Onaroll reserves the right to adjust the salary range for this role based on shifts in the market or variations in the experience of the candidate. We believe in maintaining flexibility to ensure that our compensation remains competitive and reflective of the dynamic nature of our industry.
